What would we come to find?
Would we find heaven in the fire? Would we find beauty in the mud? Would we find something in the dust? Would we find harmony in war? Would we find rainbows in the storm? Would we find love inside this hell?

"Upside Down World" by Sophie Atkin [Listen Below]
Sophie Atkin
Sophie Atkin is a singer/songwriter who aspires to touch people’s hearts with the emotional landscape she creates. Atkin writes candidly about her personal experiences and intense emotions. The content of her music is versatile, from songs about her sense of self like "I’M A TSUNAMI" to songs about her idealization of love like "Manic Pixie Dream". She is transparent and open to being vulnerable, which are characteristics that show in her music.
Atkin is an accomplished musician. In 2016, Atkin was accepted to the Phil and Eli Taylor Academy at the Royal Conservatory of Music on scholarship. She studied opera and took music theory and ear training courses, which helped strengthen her musicianship. This past March, Sophie’s song, "The Moment", got chosen for the Semi-Finals at the International Songwriting Competition.
Currently, Sophie is preparing for her Grade 9 piano exam and is teaching piano on the side. She is also studying Creative Writing at OCAD University, which she is grateful for the wonderful learning opportunities the program and school provide. Atkin says she is indebted to the mentors, teachers and professors she has and continues to be honored to learn from.
Sophie’s dream is to contribute to social change through the power of music. Sophie’s vision is to create a not-for-profit organization that gives people who are passionate about music the tools such as: equipment, lessons, post-secondary music education and/or instruments, who otherwise, would not be able to afford these resources. She wants to contribute to leveling the playfield, so anybody who is driven, passionate and talented, has equal opportunity to live their dreams.
Sophie hopes to collaborate with her inspirations like Lorde, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey and Tyler the Creator. In the future, Atkin also hopes to create a soundtrack for a film.
